Downstairs we have a very large living / dining room (60 sq metres) with a huge fireplace fitted with a woodburner. (The woodburner is a recent addition so isn't shown in the photo.) The kitchen is also very large with french windows onto the garden and is well equipped and furnished. Off the living room is a downstairs double bedroom with a new, fully tiled en-suite shower room (comprising large shower unit, sink and toilet). This bedroom has french windows which open onto the garden. Off the kitchen is a storage room that houses the central heating boiler (the house has oil fired central heating).
The house is well furnished and equipped. (It has been furnished as our intended personal and permanent retirement home). We have satellite TV, a DVD player with a large selection of DVDs, high speed wifi internet, CD / radio and telephone with free local and international calling (to Europe and N America). We also have a very well stocked bookcase and plenty of games!
Likewise the kitchen is well equipped with a gas and electric hob, electric oven, microwave, American fridge freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer. We also have a full range of kitchen gadgets from deep fat fryers to food processers! We also have a traditional picnic basket, cool boxes, picnic plates / glasses etc, folding chairs...and a corkscrew. In fact, everything you need for a relaxing lunch by the river!
An oak staircase within the tower leads to the upstairs where there are a further four bedrooms, two bathrooms and a separate toilet.
The first bedroom which is accessed directly from the landing (shown with yellow linen and accessories) has views over the rear garden and to fields, woods and vineyards beyond. The bedroom has an en-suite bathroom with bath (with shower attachment), sink and bidet.
The second bedroom is a twin with views to the right of the house over fields and woodland. The bedroom has built in furniture.
The other two bedrooms are part of a family suite and are accessed via an internal landing. The master bedroom of the suite is accessed via the twin bedroom and has a balcony and stairs to the garden. These two bedrooms have their own bathroom, accessed from the internal landing. The bathroom has a bath with a thermostatically controlled shower attachment and twin vanity units.
There is a seperate toilet accessed directly from the landing.
